The Eye Safety Card was developed by Stanley Keys BSc(Hons) FCOptom DipGlauc Dip Tp(IP), an experienced hospital optometrist based in Inverness. This double-sided card is designed as a tool to help Optometry practice staff to recognise potential ocular emergency situations when a patient phones or attends to make an appointment. It highlights certain 'red-flag' signs and symptoms the patient might be experiencing therefore prompting the staff member to give an urgent appointment or to seek guidance from the Registered Optometrist (or Registered Dispensing Optician if Optometrist not available).
